They basically can do whatever they want in terms of actually doing something about it. So while it is horrible that they didn’t do anything with the shooter they weren’t legally bound to actually do anything

The outcome of this trial just seems paradoxical to me, they found that she wasnt lying about staging her apartment to look more abused, but they also found that for speaking out against the abuse she defamed the man who – at the very least – trashed their apartment.
